From Need to Value

Pelavante helps organizations turn their strong ideas, technical expertise, and ambitious goals, as well as any impending issues or risks, into practical strategy, stronger business systems, and measurable progress.

It fills the delivery gap, providing both strategy and execution expertise, ensuring follow through on needs identification and business planning so that valuable outcomes are realized.

Founded by Jason Coccia, Pelavante draws on deep experience across strategy, growth, business transformation, client development, program leadership, financial analysis, and technology modernization. The firm was established to support startups, early-growth companies, and established organizations that know their craft or product but need assistance converting suspected issues and known opportunities into clearer direction, stronger execution, and sustainable value.

The name Pelavante reflects that purpose. Inspired by his maritime and Italian roots, it brings together the idea of moving forward (avanti) across the open ocean (pelagic). It speaks to navigation, possibility, and progress, while reflecting the spirit of blue-ocean strategy, business evolution, and the natural cycles of change.

Jason Coccia

Founder & Principal Consultant

With roots and formal training in business strategy, financial accounting, agile delivery, and the study of natural systems, Jason brings deep experience working for multi-national professional services and consulting firms, including Booz Allen Hamilton, Accenture, and Tetra Tech.

His work has spanned portfolio planning, growth, transformation, client development, financial analysis, technology modernization, and program leadership, including the conceptual planning and evaluation of emerging technologies, business models, and new market opportunities.

In August 2026, he founded Pelavante to bring those disciplines together, with a particular passion for turning strategy into tangible outcomes and helping startups, early-growth and middle-market companies, as well as public-sector organizations, build the structure, momentum, and capabilities needed to evolve and create lasting value.

A CPA, Jason also brings experience supporting emerging businesses and strategy planning through Accenture’s Business Launch Center, executive leadership training through NREL focused on emerging renewable technologies and commercialization, and work with other entrepreneurial service centers. That knowledge has shaped his perspective on how new ideas move from concept and evaluation to investment, market adoption, and execution.
